The music at the second Sunday service at St. Mark depends on largely volunteer band groups with a variety of styles. From restyling old hymns, to current Christian rock hits, we try to be as eclectic as possible while making joyful noises.  If you are interested in providing special music for this service, subbing with a band, or just finding out more, please contact Contemporary Worship Coordinator  Todd Stickney.
Arise NASH 50
Arise! plays covers of contemporary worship songs using a standard vocals, piano, guitar, drum, bass configuration, with occasional visiting instrumental soloists. They play 2 or 3 times a month, and are always looking for songs you’d like to hear in worship.
Youth in Christ
Youth in Christ 1 NASH 50
This band is exactly what it sounds like — a band made up of our youth (middle school age and older), led and mentored by Todd Stickney. Todd is very proud of this group, and is always willing to add new interested members!
Sons of Worship
The Sons of Worship lead worship at the Contemporary Service at St. Mark on a monthly basis.  This version of the band was formed in 2010 in response to a request to provide music for a summer festival at Trinity AME church in Waukegan.  The Sons of Worship have a song list of 80 contemporary and traditional Christian songs and are continually adding to the list.
Dirty Rotten Sinners
DRS will pretty much try to play any kind of worship music apart from doing something we don’t have the technology for (our apologies to TobyMac fans). We play about once a month and if you say you can play or sing anything we can find a spot for ya,
Guest Musicians
We also bring in guests periodically to share their God-given talents with us.
