CSI Senior meets in the Ed. Center
Our study is called “The Ten” and it is an in-depth look at the Ten Commandments. It has a DVD mini-movie with each session, and each one of you will receive your own student book, which you will write in and keep. I have 20 books. If we need more, I’ll order them! The sessions are easy to lead, so I am hoping that some of you might be willing to lead a session in the coming months.

Mission Trip to Montana - June 19-26, 2010 Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation - Southeastern Montana
This summer, the St. Mark CSI High School Youth Group will be going on a Mission Trip to the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation in southeastern Montana. The trip is organized by a Christian ministry called YouthWorks. We will be leaving on Saturday morning, June 19th, and driving west, stopping overnight along the way. We will arrive on the reservation in the early evening on Sunday, joining several other youth groups from around the country. During the week, we will be serving in two different ways. First, we will be doing cleaning, painting, and repair work at some of the homes on the reservation. Second, we will be leading a Vacation Bible School for the children of the reservation. On Friday, we will head for home, stopping on the way back to see Devil’s Tower in Wyoming and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. We will spend the night on the road and return home on Saturday evening, June 26th. We have three adult chaperones going and we have sixteen spots for Youth. The Youth who are eligible include all those who are currently in grades 8 through 12. In order to sign up, you must give your $50 deposit to Pastor Shields no later than Sunday, January 3, 2010. The total cost for each Youth will be $200. The rest will be covered by fundraisers. If the fundraisers are extremely successful, the cost per Youth might be less. The first fundraiser will be a concert by Christian artist Amy Shreve, on Friday, January 15th, in the St. Mark sanctuary. We will need some (hopefully all) of the Youth who are going on the trip to help out with this concert. More details will be coming soon. Adults can help out by generously supporting the free-will offering that will be taken at the concert. Note: We are going to be applying for Thrivent matching funds for this event. We will need several Thrivent policy-holders to help with the event, in order to qualify for the matching funds. If you are a member of a Thrivent family, please let Pastor Shields know! |
